A local coffee brand in Thailand was founded in 2002. Its coffee stores are mainly located in shopping centers, downtown areas and gas stations. In the past 20 years, the brand has expanded rapidly, and has been almost everywhere in the streets of Thailand. At present, the brand has more than 3200 stores in more than 10 countries and regions around the world, ranking among the world’s top ten internationally renowned coffee chain brands.
It is reported that, as an important step to realize its brand internationalization strategy, the Group aims to launch a US $1.3 billion global brand expansion plan in the next five years, expanding its stores to 5200. With the expansion of product lines and the increase of stores, the storage system of coffee raw materials also brings a new round of upgrading challenges.
In order to actively respond to the brand expansion strategy and better meet future challenges, the Group plans to build a highly automated logistics distribution center in the north of Bangkok, Thailand, putting forward high requirements for many details of the warehousing system. ROBOTECH designed and delivered the library AS/RS and related supporting systems in the intelligent warehousing solution.

In the limited workshop space of the logistics distribution center, ROBOTECH’s automated stacker crane system has designed and built a automated storage warehouse with 11 lanes, a total of more than 25000 cargo spaces, making full use of the vertical height of more than 16 meters. It is estimated that the storage capacity can reach 200000 pieces.
The whole warehouse adopts PANTHER stacker crane for warehousing and unloading, which can operate in the temperature range of – 5-40 ℃. It has the advantages of high space utilization, low labor cost, high operation efficiency, and information management. It can continuously check expired or find goods in stock, prevent bad inventory, and improve management level.
In view of many detailed requirements of the distribution center, ROBOTECH has applied flexible automation technology, so that the warehouse capacity can be adjusted according to the actual unit quantity to meet the needs of future business development and expansion. At present, the daily average output of the warehouse is 6000 pieces, and the daily processing capacity will be rapidly increased to 15000 pieces when the time is greatly accelerated. In addition, the entire logistics distribution center conducts intelligent zoning according to the picking frequency of goods. The order picking process of “arrival by person+arrival of goods by person”, combining dynamic and static, has greatly improved the efficiency of commodity handling, storage and retrieval, and picking.
After completion, the project will become the largest intelligent coffee raw material storage terminal distribution hub in Southeast Asia. It is estimated that the group’s annual roasting capacity of coffee beans will reach 20000 tons, supporting the annual commodity distribution scale of 2.25 billion yuan, with an annual throughput of 4.2 million pieces and a daily order processing capacity of 6000 pieces/time. At the same time, the large-scale application of automated and intelligent logistics equipment technology in the project has reduced the number of operators by at least 50%, saved labor costs, and improved production and operation efficiency and order fulfillment efficiency.
